Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive policy briefs and fiscal impact analyses for state legislation
- Collaborate with agency leadership on strategic planning and budget formulation
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using public data sources and stakeholder interviews
- Present findings to legislative committees and executive leadership
- Monitor implementation of enacted policies and recommend improvements
- Lead cross-functional projects with state agencies and nonprofit partners
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years in policy analysis, government relations, or fiscal management
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (R, Python, Stata)
- Demonstrated experience with Maryland state budget processes
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills for technical audiences
- Valid Maryland driver's license (required for inter-agency travel)
