Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and recommend data-driven solutions to state leadership
- Develop legislative proposals and regulatory frameworks aligned with state priorities
- Coordinate cross-departmental initiatives and stakeholder engagement
- Conduct economic impact assessments and fiscal analysis for proposed policies
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for legislative committees
- Monitor federal regulatory changes and assess implications for Nebraska
- Mentor junior analysts and lead policy research projects
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g., R, SAS, Stata)
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing policy recommendations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience in legislative drafting
- Knowledge of Nebraska state government structure and processes
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Professional certification (e.g., PPFA) preferred
