Responsibilities
- Analyze state legislation, regulations, and policy trends to develop actionable recommendations
- Conduct research and prepare comprehensive reports for state leadership and stakeholders
- Collaborate with agency directors and legislative committees on policy implementation
- Monitor budget allocations and fiscal impacts of proposed policies
- Represent the department in public forums and interagency working groups
- Manage grant-funded projects and ensure compliance with state/federal requirements
- Mentor junior analysts and oversee policy research workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or SAS)
- Expert knowledge of Georgia state government operations and legislative processes
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Strong written/verbal communication skills with ability to present to diverse audiences
- Active Georgia driver's license and ability to travel statewide
