Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze complex fiscal policies using quantitative modeling techniques
- Prepare high-impact budget recommendations for legislative review
- Lead cross-departmental task forces on emerging policy issues
- Present findings to executive leadership and legislative committees
- Maintain compliance with state fiscal transparency laws
- Mentor junior analysts on policy research methodologies
- Monitor federal policy changes affecting state revenue allocation
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in fiscal modeling software (e.g., Stata, SAS)
- Demonstrated experience with California's budget process
- Valid California driver's license
- Superior written/verbal communication skills
- Professional certification (e.g., CPPB, CPFO) preferred
