Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate evidence-based policy recommendations addressing NYC-specific challenges in housing, economic development, and public health
- Analyze legislative proposals, regulatory impacts, and budget implications for state initiatives affecting New York City
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research using advanced statistical methods and data visualization tools
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs, testimony, and executive summaries for senior leadership and legislative bodies
- Facilitate cross-agency collaboration and stakeholder engagement to ensure policy alignment and implementation
- Monitor emerging trends and best practices in urban policy to inform strategic decision-making
- Lead special projects addressing urgent policy issues with immediate citywide implications
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, Political Science, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive policy analysis experience in government, non-profit, or research institutions
- Expertise in quantitative analysis with proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, Stata) and data visualization tools
- Deep understanding of New York City's government structure, policy landscape, and community dynamics
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex information to diverse audiences
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful policy initiatives with measurable outcomes
- Strong project management skills with ability to lead multi-stakeholder initiatives under tight deadlines
