Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze complex public policies aligned with Oakland's strategic goals
- Conduct research and data analysis to inform evidence-based decision-making
- Collaborate with city departments and community stakeholders on policy implementation
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for city council and leadership
- Monitor policy outcomes and recommend strategic adjustments
- Lead cross-functional projects addressing urban challenges
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Strong proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of California municipal governance structures
- Valid California driver's license
