Responsibilities
- Design and evaluate economic development policies aligned with Memphis' strategic growth initiatives
- Collaborate with local government, nonprofits, and private sector partners on workforce programs
- Analyze fiscal data to recommend incentive structures for business attraction/retention
- Lead interagency task forces for downtown revitalization and tech corridor development
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs for legislative review and executive leadership
- Manage grant allocations for Memphis-based community development projects
- Monitor federal/state compliance requirements for economic programs
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or economic development
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis (SPSS, R, or SAS)
- Proven track record in business incentive negotiation and implementation
- Deep understanding of Tennessee's economic landscape and Memphis market dynamics
- Experience managing federal/state grant programs with $1M+ budgets
- Exceptional written communication skills for policy documentation
- Valid Tennessee driver's license
