Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft actionable recommendations for state agencies
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using primary and secondary data sources
- Collaborate with legislative staff, agency directors, and community stakeholders
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs, reports, and testimony for public hearings
- Monitor federal and state legislation for impacts on New York residents
- Lead cross-functional working groups on emerging policy priorities
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or nonprofit sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, SPSS, Stata) and data visualization tools
- Proven track record of producing policy briefs and legislative recommendations
- Deep understanding of New York State government operations and budget processes
- Exceptional written/oral communication skills for diverse audiences
