Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft high-impact policy recommendations for state agencies
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using data from state databases and academic sources
- Collaborate with legislators, agency heads, and community stakeholders
- Present findings to executive leadership and legislative committees
- Monitor implementation of new policies and evaluate outcomes
- Lead cross-functional task forces on emerging policy challenges
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Expertise in statistical analysis and data visualization tools (e.g., R, Tableau)
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing state-level policies
- Strong writing skills with published policy reports or legislative briefs
- Active California State government clearance or ability to obtain immediately
