Responsibilities
- Analyze complex municipal policies and regulations to identify opportunities for improvement
- Conduct comprehensive research on emerging trends and best practices in public administration
- Develop data-driven policy recommendations for City Council consideration
- Collaborate with department heads and community stakeholders to implement strategic initiatives
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and legislative briefings for decision-makers
- Monitor policy implementation effectiveness and recommend adjustments
- Manage public engagement processes including hearings and community forums
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in government policy analysis or public sector roles
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or similar)
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing municipal policies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to diverse audiences
- Knowledge of New Mexico state statutes and local government operations
- Valid New Mexico driver's license
