Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze complex policy proposals for state legislative and regulatory initiatives
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research and economic impact assessments
- Collaborate with agency directors and stakeholders on strategic policy implementation
- Present findings to executive leadership and legislative committees
- Monitor federal policy changes and assess implications for Maryland
- Manage cross-departmental policy task forces and working groups
- Prepare detailed reports and policy briefs for public dissemination
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis software (R, Stata, or SAS)
- Expertise in Maryland state government operations and legislative processes
- Strong written/verbal communication with ability to present complex concepts
- Proven track record of managing multi-stakeholder projects
- Valid Maryland driver's license (required for state travel)
