Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research and data analysis to identify trends in the Illinois economy.
- Develop, review, and recommend policy strategies to support small business growth and workforce development.
- Prepare complex reports, briefings, and presentations for executive leadership and the State Legislature.
- Collaborate with inter-agency task forces to streamline economic development programs.
- Monitor legislative changes at the state and federal levels to ensure compliance and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Manage grant programs and allocate funds to eligible economic development projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Economics, Political Science, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in policy analysis, government relations, or economic development.
- Proven experience in conducting statistical research and producing high-level written reports.
- Strong knowledge of Illinois state government structure and budgeting processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for federal/state security clearance.
