Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate evidence-based public health policies aligned with state and federal regulations
- Analyze complex health data to inform legislative recommendations and program improvements
- Collaborate with state agencies, community partners, and stakeholders on health equity initiatives
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs, legislative testimony, and public reports
- Monitor emerging health trends and assess their impact on Illinois communities
- Lead cross-functional projects addressing public health emergencies and chronic disease prevention
- Advocate for policy solutions addressing social determinants of health
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in health policy analysis or government affairs
- Expertise in quantitative/qualitative research methodologies and data analysis
- Proven track record of developing and implementing evidence-based policies
- Strong understanding of Illinois state government operations and legislative processes
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills with ability to present complex concepts
- Proficiency in policy analysis software (e.g., SAS, R, SPSS)
- Valid Illinois driver's license (required for field visits)
