Responsibilities
- Research and analyze state legislation, regulations, and policy impacts using quantitative/qualitative methods
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations for executive leadership and legislative committees
- Prepare comprehensive reports, briefings, and presentations for stakeholders at all levels
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement policy initiatives and monitor outcomes
- Stay current on federal/state policy trends and emerging best practices
- Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines while maintaining high-quality deliverables
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Economics, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government, non-profit, or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (SQL, R, Python) and visualization software
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable policy recommendations
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills with experience drafting official documents
- Strong understanding of Texas state government structure and legislative processes
