Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft actionable recommendations for legislative and executive branches
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using advanced statistical methods and stakeholder interviews
- Collaborate with interagency teams to implement equitable policy solutions
- Present findings to Councilmembers and senior leadership through compelling data visualizations
- Monitor federal compliance requirements and ensure alignment with DC Home Rule Charter
- Mentor junior analysts while managing multi-year policy initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or non-profit
- Expertise in quantitative research (SPSS/R) and qualitative methodologies
- Proven track record of influencing legislation or regulatory outcomes
- Deep understanding of DC's unique governance structure and community dynamics
- Exceptional written/verbal communication with ability to simplify complex concepts
- Active security clearance (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
