Responsibilities
- Oversee the administration and calculation of state pension benefits for active and retired employees.
- Conduct comprehensive eligibility reviews and resolve complex benefit inquiries with diplomacy and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the Actuarial Department to interpret data and recommend policy adjustments.
- Ensure full compliance with California Government Code and federal ERISA regulations.
- Lead training sessions for HR personnel regarding pension plan updates and changes.
- Prepare detailed reports for the State Board of Administration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration, HR, or actuarial science.
- Strong proficiency in state-specific HRIS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle HR).
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail in data processing.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for federal employment.
