Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive public health programs targeting chronic disease prevention, immunization initiatives, and health education campaigns
- Oversee emergency preparedness operations including pandemic response, natural disaster coordination, and bioterrorism mitigation
- Analyze population health data to identify emerging threats and inform policy recommendations
- Manage cross-departmental partnerships with healthcare systems, schools, and community-based organizations
- Lead grant writing and compliance for federal/state public health funding initiatives
- Supervise public health staff and ensure adherence to HIPAA, OSHA, and CDC regulations
- Present findings and strategic plans to the Board of Health and City Council members
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, or related field required
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in public health administration or government healthcare roles
- Proven expertise in health policy development and program evaluation methodologies
- Advanced certification in Public Health (CPH) or Emergency Management preferred
- Demonstrated success managing budgets exceeding $1M and federal grant compliance
- Strong proficiency in health informatics systems (e.g., Epi-Info, REDCap)
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to translate complex health data for diverse audiences
- Valid Indiana driver's license with acceptable driving record
