Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health strategies targeting chronic disease prevention and maternal/child health
- Oversee multi-agency emergency response protocols for public health crises
- Manage a $5M+ grant portfolio ensuring compliance with federal reporting requirements
- Analyze population health data to identify emerging trends and inform policy recommendations
- Lead cross-functional teams of epidemiologists, nurses, and community health workers
- Represent CDPH in intergovernmental meetings with CDC, IDPH, and local health departments
- Supervise program evaluation and continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field (MPH preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive public health management experience
- Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) certification required
- Expertise in health policy analysis and grant writing (SAM.gov experience)
- Strong quantitative skills with proficiency in SPSS/R for epidemiological analysis
- Proven track record in leading community health initiatives in urban settings
- Valid Illinois driver's license and ability to travel to community sites
- Spanish proficiency highly desirable for bilingual outreach
