Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health programs targeting chronic disease prevention and health equity
- Lead cross-departmental initiatives in emergency preparedness and disaster response coordination
- Oversee grant-funded projects with budgets exceeding $2M, ensuring compliance and measurable outcomes
- Collaborate with community stakeholders, healthcare providers, and non-profit organizations
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health trends and inform policy recommendations
- Manage a team of 8+ public health professionals, fostering professional growth and innovation
- Represent the county at regional health forums and legislative hearings
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, or related field (MPH preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive public health administration experience
- Valid Colorado Public Health Administrator certification or equivalent
- Proven expertise in grant writing and federal/state compliance (CDC/PHAB standards)
- Advanced data analysis skills with proficiency in Epi-Info, SAS, or Tableau
- Experience in crisis communication and media relations during public health emergencies
- Knowledge of local healthcare systems and community resources in El Paso County
- Valid Colorado driver's license with clean driving record
