Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health strategies targeting underserved communities
- Oversee emergency preparedness protocols and pandemic response initiatives
- Manage multi-million dollar grant budgets for health programs
- Analyze health equity data to identify intervention opportunities
- Lead cross-departmental task forces on chronic disease prevention
- Represent the department at intergovernmental health forums
- Supervise public health specialists and program coordinators
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- 5+ years progressive experience in government or non-profit public health roles
- Proven expertise in health policy analysis and grant management
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills
- DC government procurement and compliance knowledge
- Experience managing diverse teams in unionized environments
- Valid DC driver's license (required for field site visits)
