Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee implementation of county-wide public health strategies aligned with CDC guidelines and community needs
- Manage $2M+ annual health program budgets with rigorous fiscal oversight and reporting
- Lead cross-functional teams in crisis response coordination for public health emergencies
- Establish partnerships with healthcare providers, nonprofits, and federal agencies to enhance health service accessibility
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health trends and prioritize intervention areas
- Supervise 15+ public health professionals and interns through performance management and mentorship
- Present policy recommendations to County Board of Commissioners and community stakeholders
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field required
- 5+ years progressive experience in public health administration with 2+ in leadership roles
- Proven track record managing complex health programs with budgets exceeding $500K
- Michigan Public Health Administrator certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Expertise in health data analysis using tools like SAS, R, or SPSS
- Strong grant writing experience with $1M+ secured funding preferred
- Experience navigating local government regulations and procurement processes
- Exceptional communication skills for stakeholder engagement and public presentations
