Responsibilities
- Develop and implement county-wide public health emergency response protocols
- Oversee grant-funded programs for vulnerable populations (WIC, immunization clinics)
- Analyze epidemiological data to guide resource allocation during outbreaks
- Coordinate cross-agency partnerships with hospitals, schools, and nonprofits
- Manage departmental budget ($2.5M+) and compliance with state/federal regulations
- Lead crisis communication strategies for public health emergencies
- Mentor public health staff and interns
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 5+ years experience in government/public health administration
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or equivalent
- Proven crisis management during public health emergencies (COVID-19 experience preferred)
- Advanced data analytics skills with Epi-Info or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA, CMS, and state health regulations
- Alabama driver's license with clean record
