Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health strategies targeting Marion County's diverse communities
- Manage departmental budgets exceeding $5M and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
- Lead crisis response initiatives for public health emergencies (e.g., disease outbreaks, natural disasters)
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, nonprofits, and government agencies to address health disparities
- Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting for health outcome metrics
- Supervise multidisciplinary teams and mentor emerging public health professionals
- Advocate for policy changes at local and state levels to advance population health goals
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Minimum 7 years of progressive public health leadership experience
- Valid Indiana Public Health Administrator certification or equivalent
- Expertise in health equity initiatives and culturally competent program design
- Proven ability to secure federal/state grants and manage complex budgets
- Strong quantitative skills with experience in epidemiological analysis
- Exceptional communication abilities for stakeholder engagement and public speaking
- Experience with emergency preparedness and incident command systems
