Responsibilities
- Develop and implement county-wide public health strategies aligned with state and federal mandates
- Lead crisis response initiatives for public health emergencies including pandemics and natural disasters
- Oversee $2M+ grant programs and ensure compliance with funding requirements
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to address social determinants of health
- Manage 15+ staff members including epidemiologists and health educators
- Analyze health data to inform policy recommendations and resource allocation
- Represent Denver County in state-level public health coalitions and task forces
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- 5+ years progressive experience in public health leadership roles
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification
- Proven expertise in grant writing and federal/state compliance
- Strong data analytics skills with experience in public health surveillance systems
- Experience managing budgets over $1M and staff teams of 10+
- Knowledge of Colorado Revised Statutes Title 25 (Public Health)
- Excellent crisis communication and stakeholder management abilities
