The Boston Public Health Commission seeks an urgent hire for a Senior Public Health Analyst to lead critical public health initiatives in our diverse urban environment. As a key member of our Epidemiology Division, you'll collaborate with city officials, healthcare providers, and community organizations to address pressing public health challenges including COVID-19 response, substance use disorders, and health disparities. This urgent opening requires immediate availability to support ongoing emergency response operations.
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex epidemiological data to identify health trends and inform emergency response strategies
- Develop public health intervention plans targeting vulnerable populations across Boston's 23 neighborhoods
- Lead inter-agency task forces coordinating with state/federal partners during public health emergencies
- Present data-driven recommendations to senior leadership and public officials with executive-level precision
- Manage grant-funded projects supporting health equity initiatives in underserved communities
- Mentor junior analysts while maintaining compliance with HIPAA/FERPA regulations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in public health analysis with government/nonprofit sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, SAS, Stata) and GIS mapping tools
- Proven crisis management experience during public health emergencies
- Deep knowledge of Massachusetts public health regulations and reporting requirements
- Exceptional communication skills for diverse stakeholder engagement
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license for field site visits
