Responsibilities
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging public health threats and inform intervention strategies
- Develop evidence-based health policies in collaboration with federal/state agencies and community partners
- Manage grant-funded programs targeting chronic disease prevention and health equity initiatives
- Lead cross-functional teams in implementing Baltimore's Healthy City Action Plan
- Prepare comprehensive reports for City Council, state health officials, and CDC stakeholders
- Conduct community needs assessments and program evaluations using quantitative/qualitative methods
- Oversee budget allocations for public health programs with $2M+ annual responsibility
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (MPH preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in government/public health agency operations
- Proficiency in SAS, R, or SPSS for statistical analysis and data visualization
- Proven track record in grant writing and federal/state compliance (HRSA, CDC, DOH)
- Valid Maryland driver's license and ability to travel citywide for site visits
- PHQ-151 certification or equivalent public health credentials
- Experience with health equity frameworks and culturally responsive program design
