Responsibilities
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health trends in El Paso County
- Develop and implement evidence-based health intervention programs targeting underserved populations
- Collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies on public health emergency preparedness
- Lead community outreach initiatives addressing chronic disease prevention and health equity
- Prepare comprehensive reports and policy recommendations for state health officials
- Manage grant-funded projects ensuring compliance with state regulations
- Mentor junior public health staff through training and quality assurance protocols
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in public health program implementation
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (SPSS, R, or SAS)
- Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or equivalent credential
- Experience working with diverse populations in border communities
- Knowledge of Texas public health regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong grant writing and budget management skills
- Valid Texas driver's license
