Responsibilities
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify health trends and prioritize intervention strategies
- Develop evidence-based public health policies and program recommendations
- Coordinate cross-agency partnerships for health emergency preparedness
- Lead community outreach initiatives to improve health literacy
- Manage grant-funded projects with $500K+ budgets
- Prepare comprehensive reports for state legislature and federal agencies
- Mentor junior analysts and support departmental training programs
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in state/local government health programs
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis software (SPSS, SAS, R)
- Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) credential required
- Experience with grant writing and federal compliance (HHS, CDC)
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Spanish fluency preferred for community engagement
