Responsibilities
- Lead epidemiological surveillance and outbreak response coordination for Boston's 13 neighborhoods
- Analyze health data trends using SAS/R to inform policy recommendations for the Mayor's Health Equity Task Force
- Develop emergency response protocols for public health crises including heat emergencies and infectious disease outbreaks
- Manage cross-departmental partnerships with Boston Medical Center and community health centers
- Present findings to City Council and state public health officials quarterly
- Supervise junior analysts and coordinate volunteer deployment during public health emergencies
- Secure federal/state grant funding for public health initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (MPH preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in government or non-profit public health roles
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SAS, R, or SPSS)
- Certified in Emergency Management (CEM) or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience with grant writing and federal funding applications
- Knowledge of Massachusetts public health regulations and Title VI compliance
- Experience managing community health initiatives in urban settings
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license with clean record
