Responsibilities
- Design and implement data-driven public health strategies for disease surveillance and prevention
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health trends and recommend evidence-based interventions
- Collaborate with community partners to develop culturally responsive health education programs
- Prepare comprehensive reports and policy briefs for county leadership and state health agencies
- Lead grant writing initiatives to secure federal and state public health funding
- Mentor junior analysts and coordinate inter-departmental health emergency response protocols
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in governmental public health analysis
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, R, SAS) and GIS mapping tools
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or equivalent credential
- Demonstrated success in securing federal health grants (HRSA, CDC)
- Experience with health equity frameworks and community participatory research
- Valid California driver's license
