Responsibilities
- Design and implement epidemiological studies to track disease trends and inform public health interventions
- Analyze complex health datasets using statistical software (R/SAS) to identify at-risk populations
- Develop evidence-based recommendations for local health departments and community partners
- Coordinate multi-agency response to public health emergencies and outbreaks
- Manage grant-funded projects totaling $500K+ for community health initiatives
- Present findings to policymakers and stakeholders through compelling visual reports
- Mentor junior analysts and train public health professionals on data methodologies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in public health analytics or epidemiological research
- Proficiency in R, SAS, or Python with demonstrated portfolio of data projects
- California Public Health Analyst certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Experience with grant management and budget oversight for health programs
- Strong knowledge of CDC/CDPH reporting protocols and health equity frameworks
- Exceptional written communication skills for policy briefs and technical reports
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders in government and community settings
