Responsibilities
- Design and implement epidemiological surveillance systems for chronic disease prevention
- Analyze population health data using SAS/R to identify emerging health disparities
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations for county health initiatives
- Lead cross-departmental coalitions for emergency preparedness response
- Manage $2M+ grant budgets for community health programs
- Mentor junior analysts on public health research methodologies
- Present findings to county commissioners and community stakeholders
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in government/public health sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SAS, SPSS, R)
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or equivalent credential
- Demonstrated success with health equity initiatives
- Experience with CDC grant reporting requirements
- Valid Illinois driver's license
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
