Responsibilities
- Design and implement epidemiological studies to analyze disease patterns and health outcomes in Alameda County
- Develop comprehensive health data dashboards and reports using SQL, R, and Tableau for stakeholders
- Create evidence-based public health policy recommendations addressing social determinants of health
- Coordinate multi-agency initiatives to reduce health disparities in Oakland's underserved communities
- Lead community health assessments and translate findings into actionable intervention strategies
- Mentor junior staff on data analysis methodologies and public health best practices
- Secure and manage grant funding for innovative public health programs
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in public health data analysis and program evaluation
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, SAS) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Expertise in health disparities analysis and community-based participatory research
- Proven track record of translating complex data into policy recommendations
- California Public Health Nurse license or equivalent health credential preferred
- Experience managing federal/state public health grants (HRSA, CDC, etc.)
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Mandarin highly desirable
