Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive epidemiological studies for infectious diseases, chronic conditions, and environmental health threats
- Analyze complex health datasets using SAS, R, or Python to identify emerging public health risks and trends
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations for the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors
- Lead inter-agency task forces addressing opioid crisis, maternal health, and health equity initiatives
- Present findings to stakeholders through executive briefings and public health dashboards
- Oversee grant-funded programs with budgets exceeding $2M annually
- Mentor junior analysts and coordinate with university research partners
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive public health analysis experience in government or large healthcare systems
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SAS/R/Python) and GIS mapping tools
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification within 6 months
- Demonstrated success in developing data-driven health policy recommendations
- Experience managing federal/state public health grants (HRSA, CDC, etc.)
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to translate complex data for diverse audiences
- Valid Arizona driver's license and willingness to travel county-wide
