Responsibilities
- Design and implement evidence-based public health interventions for chronic disease prevention
- Analyze population health data to identify emerging health disparities and trends
- Develop grant proposals securing $500K+ in annual funding for health initiatives
- Coordinate emergency response protocols for public health crises
- Lead community outreach programs reaching 10,000+ residents annually
- Maintain compliance with VDH and CDC reporting requirements
- Mentor junior staff through departmental training programs
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in government or non-profit public health roles
- Advanced proficiency in SPSS/R for statistical analysis
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean driving record
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) preferred
- Demonstrated success in securing federal/state grants
- Experience with health equity initiatives in diverse populations
- Ability to obtain security clearance for sensitive data access
