Responsibilities
- Design and execute comprehensive epidemiological studies to identify community health trends and disparities
- Develop data-driven public health interventions targeting vulnerable populations in Detroit
- Collaborate with community partners to implement health education programs and outreach initiatives
- Analyze complex health data sets using statistical software and produce actionable reports for decision-makers
- Lead emergency preparedness planning and public health crisis response coordination
- Secure and manage grant funding for innovative public health projects
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical expertise on health policy implementation
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in public health analysis or program management
- Proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, R, SAS) and data visualization tools
- Experience developing health interventions for underserved urban populations
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification
- Demonstrated success in securing and managing public health grants
- Strong knowledge of Michigan public health regulations and compliance standards
