Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive epidemiological studies to identify disease trends and health disparities
- Develop evidence-based public health policies and intervention programs targeting vulnerable populations
- Analyze complex health datasets using statistical software to inform strategic decision-making
- Lead inter-agency coalitions to coordinate emergency responses during public health crises
- Supervise junior staff and mentor public health interns in research methodologies
- Secure and manage federal/state grant funding for health initiatives
- Present findings to county commissioners, community stakeholders, and legislative bodies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of progressive public health analysis experience in government setting
- Advanced proficiency in SAS, R, or SPSS for statistical analysis
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification
- Demonstrated success in securing $500K+ in public health grants
- Experience with health equity initiatives and community engagement strategies
- Valid Colorado driver's license with clean record
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
