Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of food establishments, childcare centers, and public swimming pools
- Investigate public health complaints and coordinate emergency response protocols
- Develop and implement educational programs for businesses and community groups
- Maintain detailed inspection records and prepare regulatory reports
- Collaborate with cross-agency teams during disease outbreak investigations
- Train junior inspectors on regulatory compliance procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health or related field
- Valid California Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) certification
- 3+ years of public health inspection experience
- Strong knowledge of California Food Safety and Housing codes
- Certified in Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
