Responsibilities
- Lead complex epidemiological investigations for infectious disease outbreaks and public health emergencies
- Analyze health data to identify trends, assess risks, and recommend evidence-based interventions
- Coordinate multi-agency response teams including law enforcement, hospitals, and community partners
- Develop and implement public health education campaigns for diverse populations
- Testify as expert witness in legal proceedings related to public health violations
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CA Health & Safety Code, and federal regulations
- Mentor junior investigators and train public health staff on emergency protocols
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (MPH preferred)
- 3+ years of field investigation experience in public health or healthcare setting
- Certified in Incident Command System (ICS-300) and NIMS protocols
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis software (SPSS, R, SAS)
- Valid California driver's license with clean record
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required
- Demonstrated crisis management experience during public health emergencies
- Knowledge of CA Title 22 regulations and federal reporting requirements
