Responsibilities
- Develop evidence-based health policies aligned with state and federal guidelines
- Analyze complex health data to identify trends and inform policy recommendations
- Collaborate with legislators, community organizations, and healthcare providers
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs, legislative testimony, and public reports
- Monitor implementation of health programs and evaluate effectiveness
- Secure grant funding and manage public health project budgets
- Represent the department at public hearings and interagency committees
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or healthcare
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools (SPSS, SAS, R)
- Demonstrated experience with health policy development and implementation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Michigan's healthcare system and Medicaid programs
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Valid Michigan driver's license
