Responsibilities
- Analyze complex health data to develop evidence-based policy recommendations for state and local implementation
- Coordinate with federal agencies (CDC, CMS) to align Nebraska's public health initiatives with national standards
- Lead stakeholder engagement sessions with healthcare providers, community organizations, and legislative bodies
- Monitor legislative changes and assess potential impacts on Nebraska's public health programs
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and impact assessments for executive leadership review
- Manage grant-funded projects totaling $1M+ with strict compliance reporting requirements
- Mentor junior analysts and oversee quality assurance of all deliverables
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in government policy development or public health administration
- Proficiency in health data analytics tools (SPSS, SAS, R) and statistical modeling
- Deep understanding of federal/state healthcare regulations (ACA, HIPAA, Medicaid/Medicare)
- Proven track record of translating complex data into actionable policy recommendations
- Experience with grant management and compliance reporting for federal/state funds
- Excellent written communication skills demonstrated through published policy papers
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
