Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate public health policies addressing chronic disease prevention and health equity initiatives
- Analyze complex epidemiological datasets to identify emerging health trends and recommend intervention strategies
- Collaborate with federal agencies, community organizations, and healthcare providers to coordinate multi-sectoral health programs
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and legislative recommendations for the Mayor and Council of the District of Columbia
- Oversee implementation of Healthy DC Action Plan objectives and track progress using KPI dashboards
- Manage $2M+ grant budgets for public health initiatives ensuring compliance with federal regulations
- Present findings to diverse stakeholders including public officials, media, and community forums
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Policy, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive public health policy analysis experience in municipal or state government
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, R, SAS) and health data visualization tools
- Demonstrated success in developing equity-focused health interventions for urban populations
- Strong understanding of CDC guidelines and federal public health funding mechanisms
- Exceptional written communication skills with published policy reports or peer-reviewed articles
- Eligibility for security clearance (background check required)
