Responsibilities
- Lead epidemiological investigations and outbreak response protocols for communicable diseases
- Develop and implement public health emergency preparedness plans for high-risk populations
- Analyze health data trends to recommend evidence-based policy interventions
- Coordinate inter-agency responses during public health crises
- Train community partners on health emergency response procedures
- Manage grant-funded public health initiatives and reporting requirements
- Represent the department in stakeholder meetings and public forums
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in public health emergency response
- Certified in Incident Command System (ICS) and NIMS protocols
- Proficiency in health data analysis tools (SPSS, SAS, or R)
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish (required)
- Experience with CDC/TPH surveillance systems
- Ability to work irregular hours during public health emergencies
