Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health programs targeting chronic disease prevention and health disparities
- Conduct epidemiological surveillance and outbreak investigations for communicable diseases
- Lead community health assessments and data analysis to identify priority health needs
- Coordinate multi-sector partnerships with healthcare providers, nonprofits, and government agencies
- Manage grant-funded projects and ensure compliance with federal/state health regulations
- Train public health staff and community health workers on best practices
- Prepare comprehensive reports for county leadership and public health advisory boards
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related health field required
- Minimum 5 years of progressive public health experience with community outreach
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) preferred
- Expertise in health data analysis using SPSS, SAS, or R
- Strong grant writing and program management experience
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) communication skills required
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
- Experience working with diverse populations and underserved communities
