We're seeking a dynamic Senior Public Health Specialist to lead evidence-based initiatives addressing health equity, disease prevention, and emergency preparedness in Austin's diverse communities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and evaluate population health programs while serving as a trusted advisor to local stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage data-driven public health interventions targeting vulnerable populations
- Coordinate emergency response protocols for public health crises
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify health trends and resource allocation needs
- Train community partners and healthcare providers on public health best practices
- Secure and administer federal/state public health grants
- Lead interdepartmental committees for health policy development
- Conduct community needs assessments and program evaluations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health or related field with 3+ years' experience
- Valid Texas Public Health Certification (CPH) required
- Expertise in epidemiological analysis and health program evaluation
- Strong grant writing and federal compliance experience
- Proficiency in health data platforms (ESRI, SAS, or Tableau)
- Experience managing community coalitions and stakeholder engagement
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency highly preferred
