Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate population health programs targeting chronic disease prevention and health education
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify health trends and develop targeted intervention strategies
- Secure and manage federal/state grant funding for public health initiatives
- Collaborate with community organizations, healthcare providers, and local businesses to promote wellness
- Develop health policy recommendations and present findings to county leadership
- Lead crisis response efforts for public health emergencies and disease outbreaks
- Mentor junior staff and coordinate volunteer programs for health initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (MPH preferred)
- Minimum 4 years of progressive public health experience in government or non-profit settings
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS, R, SPSS)
- Proven track record of securing and managing $500K+ grants
- Valid Texas Public Health Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required)
- Experience with community health assessment methodologies
- Strong knowledge of CDC/PHLP guidelines and local health regulations
