Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate public policy proposals using quantitative analysis and stakeholder engagement
- Lead cross-departmental research initiatives on urban planning and community resilience
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and legislative recommendations for County Board review
- Manage $2M+ grant programs supporting underserved communities
- Collaborate with elected officials and community leaders to implement equitable policies
- Monitor federal/state legislation impacts on County operations
- Mentor junior analysts and maintain policy knowledge database
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government/nonprofit sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, Stata) and GIS mapping
- Proven track record of implementing successful equity-focused initiatives
- Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record
- Expertise in public finance and grant management
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills
- PHR/SPHR or PP certification preferred
