Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze public policy recommendations for city council and mayor's office
- Conduct comprehensive research on urban development, healthcare, and economic initiatives
- Prepare detailed policy briefs and legislative impact statements
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to implement strategic initiatives
- Present findings to stakeholders through public hearings and executive reports
- Monitor federal and state policy changes affecting Louisville residents
- Lead community engagement sessions to gather public input
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of government or public sector experience
- Advanced data analysis skills (SPSS, R, or SAS)
- Proven policy development and legislative advocacy experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Kentucky residency required within 6 months of hire
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and GIS software
