Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft legislative recommendations
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using state databases
- Collaborate with legislators and agency stakeholders
- Prepare detailed policy briefs and testimony documents
- Monitor implementation of enacted legislation
- Manage project timelines and deliverables
- Mentor junior analysts on policy development processes
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, SAS, Stata)
- Deep knowledge of California's legislative process
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid California driver's license
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass background check
- Experience with public budgeting processes
