Responsibilities
- Analyze crime data, trends, and community feedback to identify emerging public safety challenges
- Develop and evaluate evidence-based policies, programs, and interventions
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for City Council and department leadership
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and community organizations on joint initiatives
- Manage public safety grant applications and compliance reporting
- Oversee special projects related to crime prevention and community policing
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in public safety analysis or law enforcement
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, GIS)
- Experience developing and implementing public safety policies
- Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse community stakeholders
- Valid California driver's license and ability to pass background check
